Editorial Rating

“Hristo H. Halvadzhiev — Editorial Rating” is an independent, subjective critical assessment of the artistic work, considering direction, performances, atmosphere, originality, tension, craft and lasting impact.

The flagship list is personally selected and ordered by the editor. Audience voting, popularity, box office, production-company relationships and streaming-platform relationships never determine its positions.

Audience Rating — cumulative arithmetic mean

Each eligible visitor may submit one whole-number score from 1 to 10 for a title. Every eligible rating has equal weight and remains in the calculation unless it is lawfully deleted.

Cumulative Audience Rating Aₙ = (r₁ + r₂ + … + rₙ) ÷ n, n ≥ 1

Each new eligible rating increases n by one. There is no fixed rolling window, and an older rating does not leave the calculation merely because a newer rating arrives.

Equivalent running update Aₙ = Aₙ₋₁ + (rₙ − Aₙ₋₁) ÷ n, n ≥ 2

The running-update formula produces exactly the same cumulative arithmetic mean without re-summing the full history. The Audience Rating is not a weighted average: every eligible vote has weight 1.

Official Audience Ranking — minimum-vote eligibility

A title may display its Audience Rating from its first eligible vote, but it enters the official leaderboard only after reaching the published minimum number of eligible votes. No platform-wide average or rating from another title changes its score.

Leaderboard eligibility rule i ∈ L ⇔ nᵢ ≥ q

nᵢ is the eligible vote count for title i, and q is the published minimum-vote requirement. Eligible titles are ordered first by higher Audience Rating Rᵢ, then by higher vote count nᵢ only when ratings are exactly equal, and finally by the most recently updated result if both remain equal.

Vote integrity

A duplicate vote for the same title from the same protected network identifier is rejected rather than replacing the original score. Cine Standard stores a pseudonymous hash, not the raw network address, for this integrity control.
